TEACHING WRITING IN ENGLISH

Tavsif
This course paper is devoted to the theme "Teaching Writing in English" and explores the methodology of developing writing skills among English language learners (ELLs). The work highlights the significance of English as a global language and examines writing as the most complex of the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), due to its demands on spelling, grammar, coherence, and organization. The paper consists of an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion, and a list of references. Chapter One discusses the importance of English as an international language and the advantages writing skills offer to learners, such as developing critical thinking, improving vocabulary, and enhancing communicative competence. Chapter Two focuses on innovative and effective methods of teaching writing, including the design method, training approach, graphic organizers, brainstorming, note-making, sequencing, and process-based writing techniques (planning, drafting, revising). The study emphasizes that writing should be taught gradually — from word and sentence level to paragraph and essay level — using learner-centered, collaborative, and technology-supported approaches. It concludes that systematic practice, motivation, and well-structured teaching strategies are essential for learners to master written communicative competence in English.
