Uzbekistan is a country in Central Asia, bordered by Turkmenistan and Afghanistan to the south. It is approximately the size of Spain or California, stretching from west to east and from north to south. Uzbekistan is the only Central Asian state to border all of the other four Central Asian states. It is also one of the only two "doubly landlocked" countries in the world, being completely surrounded by other landlocked countries.
