Jyväskylä is a city located in Central Finland, 270 km north from the capital Helsinki. It is the 7th largest city in Finland with 130,000 inhabitants. The city is situated at the northern end of Finland's second largest lake, Päijänne. Jyväskylä celebrates its 185th birthday in 2022 and has a surface area of 1,171 km2 with 295 km2 of water surface area. It also has 4,000 summer cottages.
