The significance of correct sampling, labeling, storage, and transportation of biological materials for laboratory testing. Failure to observe the fundamental principles of organizing and conducting the preanalytical phase leads to errors that in 46–55% of cases are the primary cause of erroneous diagnostic results. Errors caused by unsatisfactory coordination and harmonization of the actions between clinical-epidemiological services and the diagnostic laboratory.
